These services are performed to determine the cost or feasibility of service or repair when service or repair is not performed. Not charged if repair service is performed.  Diagnostic fee is waived if you proceed with any repair service from iDavid Computers.

 Remote Service Price

$79 - $129

These services may be performed remotely if the client has a working computer and fast internet connection.  For simpler, software-only fixes like virus scans, tune-ups, software troubleshooting, or basic setup assistance.  If a complex issue is identified that requires more in-depth work or a physical part, it would then transition to a flat-rate repair or an in-person service. 

On-Site Service Price

$149 - $249

These services cannot be performed remotely but can be performed on-site within a reasonable amount of time.  For repairs or installations performed at the customer's location (home or business). This fee covers the technician's travel and initial on-site assessment/basic labor for common issues.  Major repairs or extensive installations would then be quoted on top of this initial fee or transition to a flat rate for the specific repair. 

 Virus / Malware Removal & System Cleanup: $129 - $179 

• What's Included: Comprehensive scan, removal of malware, optimization of startup programs, temporary file cleanup, browser reset.
• Factors Affecting Price: Severity of infection, need for data backup before cleanup, complexity of system restoration.

 Operating System Reinstall / Refresh: $149 - $199 

• What's Included: Fresh installation of Windows/macOS, essential driver installation.
• What's NOT Included: Data backup/restore (see separate service), software re-installation (e.g., Microsoft Office, Photoshop).

 Hard Drive (HDD) to Solid State Drive (SSD) Upgrade (Labor Only): $119 - $169 

• What's Included: Installation of new SSD, operating system migration/reinstallation to the new drive.
• What's NOT Included: Cost of the new SSD.

 RAM (Memory) Upgrade (Labor Only): $59 - $99 

• What's Included: Installation of new RAM modules, basic system test.
• What's NOT Included: Cost of the new RAM.

 Laptop Screen Replacement (Labor Only): $129 - $199 

• What's Included: Disassembly, screen replacement, reassembly, basic function test.
• What's NOT Included: Cost of the replacement screen (varies greatly by laptop model).

 Data Transfer / Migration: $99 - $199 

• What's Included: Transfer of user data (documents, photos, music) from old drive/computer to new drive/computer.
• Factors Affecting Price: Amount of data (e.g., $99 for up to 100GB, $149 for 101-500GB, $199 for over 500GB), condition of source drive.

 New Computer Setup & Optimization: $99 - $149 

• What's Included: Unboxing, initial setup, essential software updates, security software installation (trial or customer-provided), basic printer/peripheral connection, user account setup.
• Optional Add-ons: Data transfer from old PC, advanced software installation.

 Basic Data Recovery (Non-Physical Damage): $199 - $499+ (Based on success and complexity) 

• What's Included: Attempting to recover data from logically corrupted or deleted drives.
• Note: Success is not guaranteed, and physical damage requires specialized lab recovery.

 "Performance Boost Package": $249 - $349 

• Includes: Diagnostic, Virus/Malware Removal, OS Tune-up, RAM Upgrade (labor only), and a recommendation for SSD upgrade if applicable.
• Rationale: Combines common services at a discount vs. à la carte, addressing multiple pain points for a "slow computer."

 "New PC Ultimate Setup": $199 - $299 

• Includes: New Computer Setup & Optimization, Data Transfer, and a basic security software setup.
• Rationale: Provides a complete, hassle-free transition for new computer owners.
